Following are the details of the case:
CRAIG BEAUDRY, Plaintiff-Appellee, represented by Jane Yohalem, Barry Green, Pierre Levy, and Aimee Bevan
vs.
FARMERS INSURANCE EXCHANGE, TRUCK INSURANCE EXCHANGE, FIRE INSURANCE EXCHANGE, MID-CENTURY INSURANCE COMPANY, FARMERS NEW WORLD LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, FARMERS INSURANCE COMPANY OF ARIZONA, LANCE CARROLL, and CRAIG ALLIN, Defendants-Appellants, represented by Ross L. Crown, Steven J. Hulsman, Kristina Holmstrom, Raoul D. Kennedy, and James P. Schaefer
Plaintiff-Appellee was an insurance agent who contracted to sell insurance policies on behalf of the Defendant-Appellant insurance companies. Appellants found Appellee in breach of their Agreement and terminated it in 2011. The district court granted Defendant-Appellant insurance companies’ summary judgment on Plaintiff-Appellee’s breach of contract claim and allowed the jury to decide whether the Companies and Appellants Carroll and Allin were liable for prima facie tort. The jury found that they were liable. Appellants assert that Appellee’s prima facie tort claim should never have been submitted to the jury and requests that the judgment be reversed.
