NM Court of Appeals Sets March 16 Oral Arguments

The New Mexico Court of Appeals has scheduled two hearings on March 16 at the Court of Appeals Pamela B. Minzner Law Center. The oral arguments are open to the public. The first one begins at 9:30 a.m. and the second one at 11 a.m.

A three-judge panel will preside: Chief Judge James Wechsler, Judge Roderick Kennedy and Judge Tim Garcia (`84).
Following are the details of the case:
State of New Mexico, Plaintiff-Appellee, represented by Anita Carlson

Alicia Victoria Gonzales, Defendant Appellant, represented by Jane Bloom Yohalem
Defendant-appellant challenges the state’s charges of child abuse for injury to child in another car while driving while intoxicated, based on the Legislature’s lack of intent for the statute to apply to such a scenario.
