NM Court of Appeals Schedules October 3 Hearing

The New Mexico Court of Appeals has scheduled a hearing at the Pamela B. Minzner Law Center on Monday, October 3, 2011. The oral argument is open to the public and begins at 2 pm.A three-judge panel will preside: Judge Michael E. Vigil, Judge Linda M. Vanzi ('95) and Judge Timothy L. Garcia ('84).

NANCY GONZALES, in her individual capacity and as owner and operator of the Carinos Day Care Center, her private business, Defendant-Appellee, represented by Caren I. Friedman and Rudy Martin
Plaintiff-Appellant seeks a ruling that the lease between the Plaintiff-Appellant as leassor and the Defendants-Appellees as leassee and sub-leassee was not legally valid due to failure to comply with statutory requirements. Plaintiff-Appellant further argues that the trial court misapplied the doctrines of equitable estoppels and laches in finding the lease valid and that, were the lease valid, Defendants-Appellees had violated the agreed upon terms of the lease.
