NM Court of Appeals Schedules Sept. 24 Hearing

The New Mexico Court of Appeals has scheduled a 10 a.m. hearing on Sept. 24 at the Pamela B. Minzner Law Center. The oral argument is open to the public.

A three-judge panel will preside: Judge Roderick Kennedy, Judge Michael E. Vigil, and Judge Linda M. Vanzi ('95)

Following are the details of the case:

Richard Ross Bowen, Plaintiff-Appellant, represented by Doug Perrin

vs.

Mescalero Apache Tribe, Defendant-Appellee, represented by David W. Peterson, Thomas C. Bird (`82), Javier Junco

Plaintiff-appellant asserts that, under their gaming compact with the State of New Mexico, the defendant-appellee is liable for their employee's attack on the plaintiff at the plaintiff's home, when the attack was based on the employee's knowledge of the plaintiff having won a large sum of money at the defendant's casino.
